Become a Construction Advisor - Generation Major Projects at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll serve as a core owner-side project team member providing constructability, execution risk, and field-readiness input across the stages of multiple projects in the Big Creek Hydro-Electric System supporting project planning, design reviews, development approvals, sourcing, preconstruction readiness, construction execution, commissioning, turnover, and closeout.

Responsibilities
- Manages project scopes, costs and schedules within the construction contract with contractors, ensuring compliance with specified cost and schedule for capital projects ranging from moderate to major impact.
- Maintains and enforces safety and environmental policies and procedures onsite during active construction, interpreting and applying them to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
- Reviews and prepares contractors daily and weekly reports, as well as final construction reports, to provide accurate and timely information on project progress, challenges, and achievements.
- Manages the preparation, review, and processing of field change orders, ensuring they are approved and processed in accordance with the company's procedures and guidelines.
- Coordinates and manages quality control and third-party inspections as scoped and delivered by the project team, ensuring that all work meets the required quality standards and specifications.
- Assists in the development and review of the Quality Control Inspection Plan (QCIP), providing input and guidance to ensure that the plan is comprehensive, effective, and aligned with project requirements. Collaborates with various third-party stakeholders, serving as the single point of contact between the onsite construction contractor and the company.
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Seven or more years of experience managing construction methods, materials and equipment as well as applying construction codes, regulations and safety standards.
- Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cal/OSHA 30 certification, with demonstrated knowledge of construction safety standards and contractor safety oversight.
- Experience applying quality assurance and quality control practices, including construction testing, inspections, and documentation; inspection certification is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and project requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document field conditions, escalate risks, prepare status updates, and collaborate effectively with contractors, project managers, and engineers.
- Experience working in remote field environments, regulated utility sites, or construction areas with access, outage, environmental, or operational constraints.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage priorities with limited day-to-day supervision.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications and other technology to support field documentation, reporting, and communication.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related technical discipline, or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

- The primary work location for this position is Big Creek, CA and position will require up to 60% traveling in the field throughout the Big Creek Hydroelectric System.
- This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
