In this role, you’ll provide strategic and operational leadership for maintenance activities across nine hydroelectric powerhouses in the Big Creek area. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical generation assets while driving continuous improvement in maintenance performance, workforce effectiveness, and asset reliability.

Responsibilities
- Develops and implements strategic plans for power generation and water and gas utilities, aligning with the overall business objectives of SCE.
- Oversees the optimization of power generation, water and gas operations, ensuring efficiency in plant performance, reliability, and availability while minimizing downtime.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, environmental standards, safety protocols and external operational coordination with key island stakeholders.
- Manages the budget for power generation, water and gas activities, optimizing resource allocation, and identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising operational effectiveness.
- Identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks associated with power generation, water and gas operations, including issues related to equipment failure, supply chain disruptions, and environmental impact. Drives initiatives to promote environmental sustainability, including the adoption of renewable energy sources, emission reduction strategies, and waste management programs.
- Establishes key performance indicators and monitors and reports on the performance of power generation, water and gas operations, making data-driven decisions to improve overall efficiency.
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management.
- Experience in power generation, water and gas utility processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading maintenance operations in complex industrial, utility, hydroelectric environments with multiple assets or facilities.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with senior leaders across geographically distributed operations.
- 3+ years supervising a team of direct reports with proven people leadership experience, including coaching and developing managers and supervisors in a union and/or represented environment.
- Track record of driving operational efficiency, reliability, and continuous improvement within maintenance organizations.
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands on operational leadership, including regular field engagement.
- Openness to innovation, including exposure to or support of AI, data analytics, or digital tools that enhance maintenance planning and execution.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate priorities, expectations, and performance outcomes.
- Experience with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), California Division of Safety of Dams (DSOD), US Forst Service (USFS), and other applicable external regulatory agencies.
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is on-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

- The primary work location for this position is Big Creek, CA.
- Position will require up to 20% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory primarily in the Sierra Nevada mountainous region.
- This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
- This position has an option for a 9/80 Alternate Work Schedule or 40hrs/5 days a week.
