The Aircraft Maintenance Technician position with Southern California Edison is an excellent opportunity for an experienced aviation maintenance professional who wants to apply their technical skills in a mission-focused utility aviation environment. This position directly supports safe, reliable aircraft operations that are critical to field crews, emergency response, infrastructure support, and the communities SCE serves. The successful candidate must be knowledgeable in FAA regulations, FAR compliance requirements, airworthiness standards, and manufacturer maintenance directives. The individual should possess strong technical aptitude, exercise sound judgment, teamwork, and consistently maintain aircraft to the highest standards of safety and reliability. This position offers the opportunity to make meaningful contributions while developing professionally within a leading aviation operation.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working on turbine-powered helicopters and Airbus Helicopters AS350/H125.
  • Must possess a current FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Bell 429 and/or  Bell 205A1
  • Possess an Inspection Authorization (IA)
  • Valid class A Driver License with valid Hazmat and Tanker endorsement

 

 

Additional Information 

  • This position’s work mode is on-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

  • Position will require up to 75% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory. 
  • This position has an option for a 9/80 Alternate Work Schedule or 40hrs/5 days a week. This work schedule has potential for change.
  •  This position is a Department of Transportation (DOT) covered classification and is subject to random drug and/or alcohol screening. 
  • Relocation does not apply to this position.
