In this job, you will oversee a team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) specializing in Distribution, Transmission, and Substation Construction and Maintenance within our Construction Methods division. Responsibilities
- Provides strategic direction and oversight for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of construction work methods and standard operating procedures Develops and implements strategies to enhance team performance and achieve business outcomes, leveraging craft experience in utility operations.
- Promotes effective communication and collaboration within the team and across departments. Facilitates regular meetings and information-sharing sessions to ensure alignment and address any issues or challenges, utilizing insights from hands-on utility experience.
- Oversees the planning, execution, and completion of projects. Ensures that the development of work processes and standards are documented accurately, comply with regulations, address safety standards, and are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Monitors progress and provides guidance to team members, applying expertise in utility operations and project management.
- Leads the team in identifying and resolving issues. Make informed decisions that support the team's objectives and contribute to the overall success of the organization, based on a deep understanding of utility field challenges.
- Establishes and sustains robust relationships with stakeholders, including vendors, clients, and other departments to continuously enhance safety protocols, work method documentation, practical demonstrations, guidance, and compliance. Represents the team in meetings and discussions, advocating for their needs and interests, with a focus on utility-specific requirements.
- Ensure that all team activities comply with regulatory requirements and safety standards. Promote a culture of safety and adherence to best practices, grounded in practical utility fieldwork knowledge.
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience in utility craft work or in leading electric utility craft workers (including transmission, distribution, substation construction, maintenance, or operations).
- Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience applying safety leadership practices with high hazard trades to enhance culture
- Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills to build consensus with client and partner organizations.
- Experience developing strategies, implementing solutions and measuring success
- Experience collaborating with, and making recommendations to, Senior Management and Executives.
- Excellent, engaging, and persuasive communication / presentation skills (oral & written); both 1:1 and large audience.
- Strong work ethic and ability to multi-task and handle competing priorities.
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
