Responsibilities
- Collaborates with senior managers and stakeholders across various training schools and operating units to ensure integration, alignment, and prioritization of training projects.
- Leads medium to large-scale projects focused on transforming the continuous improvement strategy for training, applying critical thinking skills to advance innovative solutions and implementing effective change management practices.
- Manages operational planning process to develop and maintain the T&D training budget, ensuring alignment with core technical training needs and business objectives across the organization.
- Consults with management teams to develop impactful learning solutions that enhance workforce performance and system reliability.
- Oversees the development, management, and governance of technical training programs, ensuring adherence to industry compliance requirements and best practices.
- Collaborates with internal advisors, program owners, and analysts to establish and communicate budget and procurement management, governance, and internal controls for technical training.
- Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with client organizations, training schools, and work groups to identify training requirements and align knowledge, skills, and abilities with business needs.
- Leads the development and implementation of processes, procedures, and reporting mechanisms for new and existing training programs, ensuring effective communication and continuous improvement.
- Project-manages continuous improvement and strategic initiatives.
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Seven or more years of experience in training and/or instructional design within the electric grid and bulk power system operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing, implementing, and overseeing training and development programs (new and existing), including monitoring program quality and long-term effectiveness.
- Proven ability to lead and manage projects supporting Planning and DS&P initiatives.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to proactively keep partners and key stakeholders informed, engaged, and aligned.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
- Ability to develop and implement strategies to improve operational and production efficiency.
- Experience developing business plans, leading information sharing, and delivering high-quality service to both internal and external customers.
- Strong capabilities in resource and project planning, decision-making, results delivery, and team development, with an ability to stay current on relevant technology and innovation.
- Familiarity with SCE Distribution Design, Distribution Construction activities, and/or Distribution Planning roles.
- Ability to facilitate clear, consistent communication between EL&D and T&D Training teams to ensure alignment and collaboration.
- Experience assisting with the planning, coordination, and execution of training-related operational and strategic initiatives.
- Ability to support and advance organizational continuous learning and development initiatives in partnership with leadership teams.
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
