Become a Safety Data Management Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be responsible for handling the incident management system and data lifecycle for Safety Data. This is part of the analytics portfolio in the Safety Data & Insights department within Edison Safety, with direct responsibility for safety analytics, data visualization and reporting, and data classification. You will work with the safety organization and business units to understand data and analytics needs and develop technical requirements. You'll make decisions daily to support a team of analysts who enter, classify, and visualize data to make business decisions. You will be accountable for coordinating with corporate reporting, monitoring safety performance, and developing plans to address safety risks/issues. You will be working with safety advisors and leadership in high hazard organizations to incorporate analytics and data solutions into processes and business processes, promoting citizen development in reporting / automation, and facilitating process improvement. You will use data visualization programs, tools and techniques to generate dashboards, reports and presentations that aid in data storytelling, understanding and interpretation of trends and patterns of business importance. Additionally, you will also be supporting the creation of long-term strategic roadmaps to enhance our safety journey. Responsibilities
- Manages a team delivering solutions to complex business cases and problems using a variety of data analytics technologies and techniques including but not limited to predictive models, feature extraction, data-driven analysis, application of machine learning algorithms and decision support.
- Leads the development of the Data Analytics strategy and solutions portfolio through keeping up to date on the evolving technology and industry trends in the data analytics landscape
- Empowers the organization through data-driven insights and recommendations to leadership, and other relevant stakeholders, through clear visualizations, data storytelling and well-crafted presentations
- Manages the audit and quality assurance reviews of work within the Data Analytics function
- Ensures best practice standards are followed by the Data Analytics team for business intelligence applications, promoting standardization and re-usability of reporting solutions across the organization group
- Builds and maintains partnerships with functional heads across the organization group to determine data analytics requirements, including those that require deep data science capabilities, plan and deliver solutions to meet objectives and identify actionable insights and recommendations
- Leads the development of data visualizations, including reports, dashboards, and analyses to distribute data insights in an easily digestible manner to all relevant stakeholders
- Oversees and monitors the lifecycle of Data Analytics technologies and platforms, from creation to upgrade through to retirement
- Leads the educational development of the Data Analytics user community, ensuring the community is fully equipped with the knowledge to allow utilization of the Data Analytics solutions effectively and efficiently
- Champions organizational standards on data quality and integrity, ensuring that robust validation techniques and proactive measures to identify and rectify data inconsistencies are implemented
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Five or more years of combined experience performing or supervising financial reporting and analysis, reporting, or business data analysis and visualization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Safety related programs or data management, or relevant Safety Management System experience(SMS)
- Knowledge of relational databases and power apps
- Experience in leading initiatives to manage and transform data
- Experience presenting to Senior Leadership
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
