In this job, you’ll be responsible for managing the maintenance and operations of multiple electric utility training facilities to ensure they remain safe, compliant with environmental and Company policies, and fully equipped for current and future training needs. Key responsibilities include overseeing facility and equipment upkeep, coordinating with training leadership, vendors, and internal teams for repairs and yard maintenance, and managing a fleet of training vehicles. The position also handles facility and resource requests across T&D Training, supports logistics for training sessions and site tours, maintains inventory, and leads procurement and upkeep of both current and emerging training equipment. Responsibilities

  • Oversees the maintenance and operations of multiple electric utility training facilities, which may include their IT infrastructure and ensures compliance with safety and health regulations by applying best practices in process governance, execution and auditing.
  • Ensures training facilities and yards are safe, compliant, optimally configured, and supplied with materials/equipment for current and long-term use.
  • Coordinates with vendors, contractors, and internal cross-functional teams for facility maintenance and repairs.  Orders, stores, tracks and distributes materials/equipment and tools required for training.
  • Manage the fleet of vehicles used for training purposes, ensuring they are maintained, serviced, and operational.
  • Monitor the status of all maintenance and resource requests across T&D Training. Ensure timely processing and completion of requests to meet training demands. Communicate with facility managers and staff to understand and address their needs and maintain visibility to status, risks, and issues.
  • Schedules and facilitates logistics for training and site tours with consideration for facility capacity, ad-hoc requests, training staff, students, delivery staff, and training requirements.
  • Generate reports on the volume, status, and completion of requests. Analyze data to identify trends, risks, equipment capitalization opportunities, and other areas for improvement. Provide regular updates to senior management on the status of facility maintenance and resource management. Support Corporate Real Estate projects as needed.
  • Identify potential risks associated with facility maintenance, fleet management, and material availability. Develop and implement solutions to mitigate risks. Ensure contingency plans are in place to address unexpected issues or emergencies. Manage the budget for facility maintenance, fleet management, and material procurement. Process invoices to ensure timely payment to vendors and contractors. Monitor expenses and ensure spending is within budgetary limits. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising the quality of services.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience in electric utility craft work (transmission, distribution, substation construction, maintenance or operations).
  • Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of T&D line construction tools and material (A&B material)

  • Basic computer proficiency (Outlook, Teams, Excel) 

  • Experience ordering material 

  • Familiar of SCE’s Apprentice program and training 

 

 

Additional Information 

  • This position’s work mode is on-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

  • The primary work location for this position is currently Chino. However, once SCE’s new training facility is built in Corona, this will become the primary work location. 
  • Position will require up to 30% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation.  Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
  • Relocation does not apply to this position.
