Become a Tactical Grid Support (TGS) Advisor for Transmission & Telecom (T&T) Operations at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll support Grid Performance Resource Supervisor’s with analytics, querying, and tactical or ad-hoc reporting capabilities, while providing tangential support to the broader Grid Leadership Team to usher work through scheduling and execution, ultimately to completion. This position supports performance management, scheduling oversight, operational improvements, and both crew and patrol resource tactical objectives. The TGS Advisor assists the Performance Resource Supervisor in maintaining oversight of all grid crew and patrol resource work, while helping address operational performance issues impacting corporate or T&D goals. The TGS Advisor conducts regular analysis and reporting for Transmission & Telecom Operations initiatives, projects, and processes, as well as serves as a SME on process and procedures across the organization. The position collaborates heavily with internal partners (Planning, Engineering, Environmental, Road & Civil Operations, etc.) to ensure work is ready for field execution and all pre-construction requirements are met. Responsibilities

  • Oversees and executes contracts and agreements in compliance with administrative instructions and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures that permits and easements for facilities are obtained in accordance with all relevant city, county, and additional agencies.
  • Develops and implements data management practices to sustain model integrity.
  • Directs and coordinates transmission and distribution activities that provide energy services to customers, leading outage management, facility maintenance and capital improvements.
  • Obtains management approval for on-going projects and conducts tracking, analysis and resolution of project cost, scope, resource and schedule issues, ensuring commitment on detailed work plans, including contingency and communication plans.
  • Retrieves, analyzes and summarizes business, operations, customer and economic data in order to develop business intelligence, optimize effectiveness and predict business outcomes.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and interprets trends or patterns and prepares ongoing reports and data visualizations (e.g., charts, dashboards, heat maps) in order to support business decisions.
  • Monitors budget variances on a regular basis and prepares and monitors long term budget forecasts.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience in energy delivery and distribution.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience in engineering, planning, distribution, or transmission, including project management, regional scheduling, or operational/analytical support of these areas.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, applicable professional, business, or technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience leveraging Power BI or equivalent tools to develop reports and create dashboards.
  • MS Access proficiency to develop queries, create, and run ad-hoc reports.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP equipment and structure fields, CMS, ClickSchedule, and WorkIt.

 

 

Additional Information 

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
