In this job, you’ll advance enterprise preparedness and recovery by leading integrated business continuity planning, assessments, and exercises that align organizational units, technology, and operations to a scalable, resilient continuity program.

 

Additionally, you’ll:

 

  • Lead and project-manage cross‑functional resiliency initiatives spanning business continuity planning, vendor resiliency, continuity assessments, and gap remediation efforts.
  • Guide the development, maintenance, and quality assurance of Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), Business Impact Analyses (BIAs), and recovery strategies aligned to enterprise standards and regulatory expectations.
  • Serve as a strategic connector between Business Resiliency, Organizational Units, IT/OT, and operational partners to assess risk, maturity, and interdependencies impacting continuity and recovery.
  • Design, coordinate, and support tabletop, functional, and discussion-based exercises to validate continuity plans, response capabilities, and technology resilience.
  • Integrate and mature enterprise business continuity frameworks, tools, and methodologies through multi-team coordination and execution oversight.
  • Support governance, compliance, and reporting requirements for Business Resiliency programs, ensuring consistency and audit readiness.
  • Identifies areas to mature in the program to increase the company's resilience capabilities, assisting the business functions in identifying and remediating gaps in their resilience capabilities.
  • Provide continuity and preparedness support during real-world incidents, including potential activation in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) as part of the Incident Management Team (IMT).

Responsibilities

  • Executes risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and potential business interruptions.
  • Supports business resiliency incident management activities within the crisis management processes and monitors lessons learned.
  • Drives projects related to crisis management, ensuring effective execution and desired outcomes.
  • Conducts analysis of business functions and key business services, mapping to identify critical dependencies and potential vulnerabilities.
  • Monitors events/incidents relating to operational resilience, including near misses and facilitates escalation, remediation, and coordination of the company's response as required.
  • Implements, manages, and maintains resiliency program infrastructure, including business resiliency tools, notification systems, documentation, and management reporting.
  • Identifies areas to mature in the program to increase the company's resilience capabilities, assisting the business functions in identifying and remediating gaps in their resilience capabilities.
  • Designs and facilitates meaningful plan exercises, analyzes outcomes to identify trends, weaknesses/gaps, risks, and opportunities to improve plans and strengthen resiliency.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of experience in business resiliency, emergency management or utility operations.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree.
  • Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP), or similar certification.
  • Active membership and engagement in professional business continuity, resilience, or emergency management associations, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and advancement of industry best practices.
  • Proven experience developing, maintaining, and executing Business Continuity Plans, Business Impact Analyses, and recovery strategies across complex organizations.
  • Experience designing and facilitating continuity exercises and translating lessons learned into actionable improvements.
  • Experience supporting enterprise‑wide continuity or resiliency programs in a regulated or critical‑infrastructure environment.
  • Experience conducting maturity assessments, benchmarking, and long‑term resilience assessments.
  • Experience integrating business continuity and disaster recovery into large‑scale exercises or special initiatives. 
  • Demonstrated experience with Fusion or other similar business continuity software.
  • Familiarity with recognized continuity and resilience frameworks (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST).

 

 

Additional Information 

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation.  Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
  • During real-world incidents this position will be called upon to support the IMT in the Emergency Operations Center virtually or in person. 
  • Relocation does not apply to this position.
