Become a Customer Energy Program Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and help deliver reliable, customer-focused energy programs that support California’s clean energy future. In this role, you will manage Demand Response (DR) and Distributed Generation (DG) contracts with third-party aggregators, helping ensure contract compliance, operational readiness, accurate settlements, and effective coordination across internal and external stakeholders. 

 

As an Advisor in the Demand Response Program Management team, your work will help connect customers, aggregators, program teams, and operating partners to achieve dependable resource performance, meet regulatory obligations, and support business continuity for contracts that provide load management. You will serve as a key point of coordination for active aggregator portfolios, contract administration, reporting, budget oversight, event readiness, and the long-term transition or off-ramp of existing contract resources. 

 

Incident Management Team Expected Participation: Employees are expected to support emergency response and/or business continuity efforts, including readiness to serve on an Incident Management Team (IMT) when needed. Employees will participate in an on-call rotation (approximately every four to six weeks), to support IMT activations during emergency events. IMT assignments may differ from an individual’s regular responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the implementation of customer programs and services, focusing on delivering maximum customer benefits, regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
  •  Communicates emerging program trends and developments to leadership and senior individual contributors.
  • Interprets program reports and dashboards and reviews customer feedback to address red flags, ensure timely escalation and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Leads program-related activities with internal teams, external vendors, and/or stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of customer programs and services with utility operations and customer engagement.
  • Responsible for operational and regulatory compliance requirements including reporting obligations and adherence to standard practices and protocols.
  • Evaluates key program efficiency metrics and cost effectiveness reports to develop and implement improvements and communicate to stakeholders.
  • Applies knowledge of industry trends and best practices and fosters collaboration for the advancement of programs.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for all program-related topics, including development & delivery of training.
  • Leads engagement activities to promote program-related information at outreach events.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience in a customer service, corporate, administrative, or analytical role supporting business operations.
  • Two or more years experience providing customer program, service or project support.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing contracts, vendor or aggregator relationships, service-level performance, budgets, purchase orders, invoices, settlements, and deliverable tracking. 
  • Experience supporting Demand Response, Distributed Generation, distributed energy resources, clean energy programs, customer programs, utility operations, or wholesale energy market activities. 
  • Knowledge of Demand Response program operations, including event readiness, customer or aggregator enrollment, performance reporting, settlement or payment processes, and compliance obligations. 
  • Experience preparing or supporting regulatory filings, testimony, data requests, audit documentation, financial reporting, or other compliance-related deliverables. 
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills using Excel, Power BI, SAP, Ariba, or similar systems.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional workstreams, manage competing priorities, resolve issues, and influence stakeholders without direct authority. 
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to explain complex program, contract, and operational information clearly to leadership, internal partners, external aggregators, and support teams. 
  • Experience developing or maintaining procedures, trackers, decision records, training materials, or business continuity documentation that improve consistency and knowledge transfer. 

 

Additional Information 

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
