In this role, promote energy efficiency (EE) and demand side management (DSM) programs to meet established goals at the Energy Education Centers. This role provides training assistance to customers, workforce members, and stakeholders to support the adoption of energy efficient equipment and demand-reduction classes. The incumbent will monitor Workforce Education and Training (WE&T) program effectiveness, analyze data, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, customer-facing environment that directly contributes to SCE’s mission of empowering communities and advancing clean energy adoption 

 

This role is stationed at the front desk of the Energy Education Center in Irwindale, serving as a trusted resource for customer and staff questions related to the WE&T program, the Center’s operations, programs, tours, and overall use of the Center. 

 

Primary Functions:

 

  • Collect and report attendance data for classes and events, assisting with analysis and forecasting to inform business planning. 
  • Assist in creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for systems and operations. 
  • Serve as the first point of contact for visitors and staff at the Energy Education Center in Irwindale, providing exceptional customer service. 
  • Communicate with customers via email, phone, and in person; manage group email inboxes. 
  • Collaborate across departments to support strategic and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors energy efficiency and demand response programs to optimize energy usage during peak periods
  • Helps analyze program reports and dashboard to identify potential conservation targets
  • Conducts analysis of energy usage data, load patterns, and grid conditions to identify potential opportunities to optimize program effectiveness
  • Coordinates with internal teams, such as grid operations, customer service, and marketing, to ensure seamless integration of demand response programs with overall utility operations and customer engagement efforts
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines related to programs, including reporting obligations and adherence to program rules and protocols
  • Compiles program cost effectiveness reports
  • Stays informed about industry trends, share best practices, and foster collaboration for the advancement of programs
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience working with demand response principles, customer programs, or conservation/efficiency initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Experience providing direct customer support and guidance to ensure program success. 
  • Experience in clean energy, sustainability, outreach, or education programs.  
  • Experience in collecting, analyzing, and reporting attendance or operational data with accuracy. 
  • Experience supporting logistics for events, meetings, or programs 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, CoPilot) and internet-based scheduling systems.

  • This position’s work mode is on-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
