As Senior Manager, Energy Efficiency Programs and Contracts—you will lead the group responsible for the day-to-day administration of SCE’s custom, calculated, statewide and regional energy networks portfolio.

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead at the intersection of strategy, operations, and regulatory accountability. The Senior Manager guides and directs the focus and direction associated with managing these dynamic pieces of the portfolio. You will drive accountability and ensure ongoing performance of the portfolio in service of SCE customers and meeting CPUC mandates and cost-effectiveness goals.

Leading a team of program/contract managers, this individual provides overall guidance across the team, acts as a liaison to internal and external stakeholders, serves as a witness in regulatory proceedings, is responsible for ensuring the team follows various compliance guidelines, represents SCE at various external workshops and industry events and engages executive leadership for consultation and timely updates. The work is highly visible and essential—directly influencing portfolio performance management, executive decision‑making, and how SCE demonstrates cost-effective results from energy efficiency investments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the development electrification efforts and related research and development projects.
  • Leads quality control auditors who perform project verification with members of third-party implementers and contractors.
  • Fulfills requirements of annual program budgeting, contractor performance, and identifies opportunities for innovation and collaboration across programs.
  • Manages the process of "Request for Proposals" and awarding of contracts to subcontractors and vendors delivering energy efficiency programs to utility customers.
  • Delivers the continuous monitoring, tracking and real time reporting of necessary program performance data for measurement and verification purposes.
  • Delivers recommendations for efficiency initiatives and programs that incorporate specific energy utilization areas pertaining to designated utility customers.
  • Conducts marketplace reviews, industry research and rely upon data analytics to influence strategic planning.
  • Realizes the creation of opportunities to streamline and improve administration of the energy efficiency programs, both within the firm and operating markets.
  • Develops Institutional Partnerships with the State of California and with key institutional stakeholders.
  • Develops, manages and coordinates complex studies involving EE Billing Analysis as well as other customer and energy programs.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management.
  • Experience working with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods and practices.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Experience directing and/or negotiating new contracts and amendments to current contracts
  • Experience in managing a portfolio or multi-program strategy effort; juggling multiple competing interests in support of a specific or singular goal
  • Experience as an external-facing liaison; managing multiple vendors, regulators and/or external partner agencies
  • Experience with energy efficiency program administration (e.g. Total System Benefit and TRC goals)
  • Experience working in a utility industry

 

Additional Information 

 

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
