Become a DFAS Resource Planning Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, including annual OpPlan, and optimization for the planning organization. This role involves forecasting resource needs and developing and implementing hiring strategies across planning teams. This leader will collaborate closely with senior leadership in DFAS and cross-functional teams to ensure that personnel are effectively aligned with project and operational needs, to advance career opportunities and establish a robust talent pipeline for all design groups. The position requires a strong focus on data-driven decision-making, vendor and stakeholder management, and continuous process improvement to enhance resource efficiency in support of organizational goals, including providing oversight of DFAS resource management programs and ensure alignment with the overall DFAS operational strategy with envolving priorities. 

 

This role will manage five employees and oversee Resource and Capacity planning tool development and strategy and ensure alignment with DFAS organization and overall T&D resource strategy. A key aspect of the role includes safeguarding sensitive information and ensuring compliance with the highest standards of data protection and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day resource planning efforts in collaboration with senior management, and other stakeholders; assess skills, expertise, and capacity requirements for various projects, programs, or operational activities; oversee resource plans that consider project timelines, budget constraints, and resource availability, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Oversee the acquisition of necessary resources, including equipment, technology, and materials; collaborate with procurement teams, vendors, and external partners to negotiate contracts, manage vendor relationships, and ensure timely acquisition of resources.
  • Oversee the monitoring and tracking of resource utilization to ensure optimal use of available resources; analyze data, assess allocation efficiency, and identify opportunities for improvement; utilize advanced project management tools and resource management software to provide detailed insights to stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Manage the resolution of conflicts related to resource allocation. Lead discussions, negotiate compromises, and work with stakeholders to develop equitable solutions that align with organizational priorities and objectives.
  • Manage efforts to optimize resource allocation and enhance efficiency. Analyze resource utilization patterns, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements; implement resource management methodologies, tools, or systems to streamline processes, automate resource allocation, and elevate overall resource management effectiveness.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five or more years combined experience performing or supervising resource management or business planning activities.
  • Experience in utilizing business operations software and systems (for example: ERP Systems, CRM systems).
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in resource planning and/or work management.  

 

Additional Information 

  • The position’s work mode is remote. Employee is able to work primarily at home or remote however, the employee may be expected to come to an SCE facility on occasion. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Hiring organizations can add further requirements related to specific jobs.
