As part of SCE’s Clean Energy and Transportation Electrification organization, the Charge Ready Program is expanding electric vehicle infrastructure across communities, businesses, schools, parks, and transportation fleets throughout our service territory.
We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented leader to oversee the delivery of SCE’s Charge Ready portfolio. As a Electric Transmission &/Or Distribution Project Management, Senior Manager - Charge Ready Program, you will lead a team of managers, project managers, analysts, and project delivery professionals responsible for the safe, timely, cost-effective, and compliant execution of transportation electrification infrastructure projects. This role oversees end-to-end project delivery, including customer engagement, planning, design, permitting, construction, energization, reporting, and program closeout.
You will partner closely with eMobility, Engineering, Planning, Construction, Customer Programs, Regional Operations, regulatory stakeholders, and external delivery partners to ensure successful execution of SCE’s transportation electrification initiatives. Key Focus Areas
Program & Project Management
- Lead the planning, prioritization, execution, and governance of the Charge Ready portfolio.
- Oversee project lifecycle management, resource allocation, forecasting, project controls, and delivery performance.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
Transportation Electrification Delivery
- Direct execution of EV infrastructure and make-ready projects across residential, commercial, public sector, fleet, and transportation customer segments.
- Support the deployment of programs such as Charge Ready Light Duty, Charge Ready Transport, Schools, Parks and Beaches, and future transportation electrification initiatives.
- Drive scalable delivery strategies that support increasing customer participation and infrastructure deployment.
Operational Excellence & Performance
- Establish and reinforce standardized project management practices that improve cycle times, cost performance, schedule predictability, and customer outcomes.
- Leverage data, dashboards, forecasting tools, and performance metrics to identify risks and drive informed decision-making.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on operational efficiency, quality, and program effectiveness.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with internal business leaders, engineering organizations, field operations, regulatory teams, and customer-facing organizations to deliver program objectives.
- Build strong relationships with customers, municipalities, public agencies, contractors, and external stakeholders.
- Communicate portfolio performance, risks, strategic priorities, and business outcomes to executive leadership.
People & Vendor Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of project management professionals.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee contractor, consultant, and vendor performance to ensure alignment with program objectives and delivery expectations.
Financial Oversight
- Manage portfolio budgets, forecasting, financial performance, and resource planning.
- Ensure strong cost management practices and effective stewardship of program investments.
- Support regulatory reporting, business case development, and financial planning activities.

Responsibilities
- Develops long-term vision and strategic roadmap for the project management competency. Provides strategic level (Region/Portfolio) direction to project controls engineers responsible for cost and schedule support. Drive adoption of innovative project management methodologies and approaches.
- Cultivates relationships with business partners and vendors to achieve operational excellence. Builds strong and collaborative working relationships with peers from project sponsoring and peer organizations: Engineering, Asset Management, Technical Planning, Region personnel, Transmission, Permitting, Local Public Affairs, and others as needed.
- Determines overall and Regional Targets. Responsible for rebase lining or adjustments to Targets. Collaborate with Capacity Planning group to ensure appropriate resources are in place to successfully manage Distribution Program work and to meet section and departmental goals and objectives. Directs project portfolio planning and ongoing optimization of resources to advance key initiatives.

- Acts in a senior leadership capacity during interactions with regulatory authorities and is a subject matter expert on regulatory environments for electrical transmission/distribution projects.
- Provides leadership and strategic direction for transmission infrastructure projects including new lines, substations, and network upgrades.
- Navigates and negotiates with regulatory agencies on project permitting, siting, and environmental impact assessments.
- Provides escalation support for various emergent issues across IPSEC.
- Provides strategic oversight of Distribution Capital Programs and commodities across Program Management to achieve the successful completion of work to unit and spend targets as well as a number of Tand D and corporate goals.
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management.
- Experience developing long-term vision and strategic roadmaps for the project management initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, Project Management, Economics, Public Policy, or a related field. Advanced degrees are preferred.
- Experience leading large, complex, customer-facing infrastructure or utility programs involving multiple stakeholders, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
- Five (5) or more years of experience leading and mentoring managers, project managers, analysts, and professional staff.
- Seven (7) or more years of experience managing project portfolios including scope, schedule, budget, risk, resource planning, forecasting, and performance reporting.
- Experience with utility distribution systems, electric service planning, engineering, construction, field operations, or infrastructure deployment processes.
- Experience with transportation electrification, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, clean energy programs, customer programs, or regulatory program implementation.
- Strong understanding of project controls, financial management, forecasting, contractor oversight, risk management, and performance metrics.
- Experience developing and implementing business processes, operational strategies, governance frameworks, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated success leading through ambiguity, managing competing priorities, and delivering results within a matrixed organization.
- Experience building strong partnerships with customers, internal organizations, public agencies, contractors, consultants, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, facilitation, and executive communication skills.
- Experience utilizing data, reporting, dashboarding, and performance management tools to drive operational and business outcomes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and project management, reporting, and analytics platforms.
- One or more of the following certifications are preferred:
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP)
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification
- Lean Six Sigma Certification
- Program Management Professional (PgMP)
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
