In this job, you’ll be responsible for managing a portfolio of interconnection requests to SCE’s transmission and distribution systems from the interconnection application through termination, and all associated activities. This position serves as the primary contact within SCE for interconnection customers and is responsible for negotiating and managing interconnection and other related agreements. Responsibilities
- Manages and oversees a portfolio of standard interconnection requests to SCE's transmission and distribution systems
- Interfaces cross functionally with multiple internal partners, stakeholders, and customers throughout the lifecycle of an interconnection request that comes through the queue
- Facilitiates the process of utility studies (feasibility, system impact, and facility) associated with standard interconnection requests by leading scope meetings, partnering with Engineering to complete the studies, and communicating results of the studies back to customers
- Coordinates, prepares, and negotiates standard interconnection agreements and other related agreements including requests for amendment
- Publishes results of standard interconnection studies and/or screening processes by SCE's technical groups
- Maintain accurate interconnection data in SCE's internal databases and systems
- Integrate work across relevant disciplines within SCE, balancing customer service with regulatory and business needs, while managing risks appropriately
- Applies interconnection processes and procedures with tariffs and rules, which include CAISO, Wholesale Distribution Access Tariff, and CPUC Rule 21
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Seven or more years of experience negotiating contracts or agreements.
- Initiating and managing contracts related to the power grid.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- Experience in managing multi-year projects in a utility environment with power system planning and interconnection studies or interconnection procedures (CAISO, WDAT, and Rule 21).
- Demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant disciplines within SCE, balancing customer service with regulatory and business needs, while managing risks appropriately.
- Professional Engineering or Project Management Certification.
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
