In this job, you’ll be responsible for assisting with the management of agreements to interconnect generation resources to SCE’s electrical system. This position plays a key role in contract management and compliance and is responsible for managing interconnection contracts in accordance with CPUC and FERC jurisdictional tariffs.

Responsibilities

  • Review medium complexity contracts to identify potential risks, liabilities, and ambiguities. This includes analyzing legal language, financial implications, performance metrics, and compliance requirements to ensure contracts align with organizational objectives and policies
  • Ensures adherence to regulatory and governance requirements throughout the life of the contract to ensure compliance with standards and policies. Leads conversations with stakeholders to ensure implementation and management of contract from inception to termination, often performing in a project management capacity
  • Manages contract performance, evaluates and leads contract disputes and makes strategic recommendations to improve contract performance. Evaluate and monitor contract performance to determine the necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Collaborates with relevant stakeholders on contractual matters, mobilize internal teams to respond to customer needs, lead and form ad hoc cross-functional teams to address and resolve issues
  • Lead/support contract terms and conditions negotiations with customers and stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant tariffs. This includes grasping the objectives of the change, identifying areas for compromise, and achieving mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Leads and manages FERC Formula reporting, budget/forecasting, variance explanations, data requests, and monthly quarterly and year-end accruals
  • Reviews cost proposals and actual cost reports from projects to establish standard summary data cost reports and variance analyses
  • Identifies and escalates issues to management for immediate resolution, may include billing, operational, and contractual issues
  • Performs various financial and journal entries to aid in the reconciliation of projects including Non-PO's, refunds and invoices
  • Drives continuous improvement, including assisting with identifying and implementing processes, policies, and procedures
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience in contract administration.
  • Experience in contract management and interpretation of contract terms/conditions.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with interconnection agreements/contracts related to FERC and/or CPUC tariffs.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Electric Utility Industry experience.
  • Experience handling email communications from both internal and external customers.
  • Experience with data management including electronic filing.
  • Experience with project management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Additional Information 

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
