In this role, you will lead bulk power initiatives delivering the company’s largest and most complex electric infrastructure projects. You’ll oversee more than 2,000 high‑risk, multi‑year transmission and substation projects, representing over $600M annually in construction across the full lifecycle—from early development and regulatory coordination through construction and execution. Partnering closely with engineering, environmental, permitting, legal, and regulatory teams, you will lead Senior Managers responsible for meeting critical milestones on high‑demand capital projects & programs essential to grid reliability, load growth, and electrification. This role interfaces regularly with senior executives and requires exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities
- Establishes and communicates enterprise-wide project management vision, policies, and objectives. Advises senior leaders on project investments, strategic initiatives, and benefits realization.
- Collaborates with executive leadership to align project portfolios to corporate strategy.
- Leads project management community of practice to share knowledge and enhance capabilities.
- Oversees the company's most complex and critical major construction projects and their staff, including multiple project managers and plays a key role in the development of the company's construction project strategy.
- Acts in a senior leadership capacity during interactions with regulatory authorities and is a subject matter expert on regulatory environments for construction projects.
- Ensures project teams implement advanced field solutions to technical issues related to foundations, structural integrity, equipment alignment, and system testing.
- Oversees contractor safety, performance standards, quality control audits, and development of talented field professionals across the project portfolio.
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Seven or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management.
- Experience developing enterprise-wide project management vision, policies, and objectives.
- Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience leading multi-year, high-risk projects & programs with major construction components, critical milestones, and substantial capital investment.
- Demonstrated success managing and developing senior leaders or managers responsible for large project portfolios.
- Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle, including early development, regulatory coordination, permitting, construction, and execution.
- Experience partnering across engineering, environmental, permitting, legal, regulatory, and operations teams to deliver results.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and align senior executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to operate effectively in a high-pressure, high-visibility environment with competing priorities and evolving demands.
- Advanced degree (MBA or Master’s in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline).
- Experience managing or overseeing portfolios totaling hundreds of millions of dollars in construction spend.
- Deep familiarity with transmission and substation projects, bulk power systems, or high-voltage infrastructure.
- Demonstrated ability to drive execution across large, complex organizations while maintaining strong governance, risk management, and accountability.
- Experience working within regulated utility or public infrastructure environments.
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
