Become a Major Construction Projects, Senior Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this role, you’ll lead a team delivering a portfolio of capital infrastructure programs supporting over $600 million in annual investment across SCE’s Transmission & Distribution (T&D) organization. You will oversee project managers responsible for approximately $300 million annually in substation, transmission, and related capital projects—ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective execution. This includes driving performance across scope, schedule, budget, and expenditure targets while aligning with SCE’s capital investment strategy for our South West Regions ( Metro West, Orange and San Jacinto).

Responsibilities

  • Develops long-term vision and strategic roadmap for the project management competency.
  • Cultivates relationships with business partners and vendors to achieve operational excellence.
  • Drives adoption of innovative project management methodologies and approaches.
  • Directs project portfolio planning and ongoing optimization of resources to advance key initiatives
  • Manages the construction and execution of several large construction projects and aligns project goals with those of the broader organization.
  • Facilitates rigorous constructability reviews, logistics optimization, and productivity analyses during project planning and execution.
  • Directs implementation of standardized project controls frameworks across the portfolio, including robust cost estimating, scheduling, change management and document procedures.
  • Provides guidance over master schedules, equipment/material deliveries, and construction performance metrics across all projects.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management.
  • Experience in developing long-term vision and strategic roadmap for the project management initiatives.
  • Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams, with a strong focus on people leadership, accountability, and continuous improvement in Transmission & Distribution, substation, engineering, construction, utility operations, or capital project environments.
  • Experience managing complex project portfolios with varying levels of scope, complexity, risk, and duration while driving process improvements, efficiencies, or innovative solutions to support high-volume work and consistent project execution across substation infrastructure replacement, load growth, transmission, telecom, or related utility projects.
  • Experience building strong cross-functional partnerships with project management, engineering, construction, operations, finance, and/or other key stakeholder groups.
  • Strong communication, influence, and coaching skills, including the ability to support team members and navigate stakeholder interactions effectively with demonstrated ability to take ownership, exercise initiative, and work collaboratively across teams to resolve issues and deliver results.
  • BA/BS in Business or technical field such as Engineering or Construction Management; Project Management Certification a plus.

 

 

Additional Information 

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

  • Position will require up to 25% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
