Become a Principal Manager - AMI 2.0 Program Deliver at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll join SCE’s Grid Innovation organization and lead the delivery of one of the most transformative grid modernization programs in the industry. As the leader of the AMI 2.0 Program Delivery Office, you will be responsible for executing a critical grid initiative that will reshape how the grid operates, how customers interact with energy, and how data drives decision-making across the company.
This is a high-impact, high-visibility leadership role accountable for end-to-end program execution across technology, field operations, customer experience, IT systems, and external partners. You will establish the operating model, governance, and delivery discipline required to execute at scale—ensuring strong alignment across executive leadership, regulatory stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
The role sits at the center of SCE’s clean energy transition, enabling advanced metering capabilities, grid intelligence, and digital infrastructure essential to reliability, affordability, and decarbonization goals. You will lead a large, matrixed organization and oversee complex vendor ecosystems while ensuring delivery against cost, schedule, scope, and regulatory commitments.

Responsibilities
- Establishes and communicates enterprise-wide project management vision, policies, and objectives. Advises senior leaders on project investments, strategic initiatives, and benefits realization.
- Collaborates with executive leadership to align project portfolio to corporate strategy.
- Leads project management community of practice to share knowledge and enhance capabilities.
- Owns, maintains, and drives improved project performance metrics to ensure delivery of key business objectives.
- Ensures proper change control processes are understood and used by the project team.
- Oversees, motivates and monitors the performance of the team, ensuring quality and timeliness of assignments and roles, and addresses any performance gaps; Manages and coordinates all activities leading to the successful completion of large-scale, major strategic projects including project scoping, timelines, cost estimates and design.
- Establishes and leads project teams with agreed-upon roles and responsibilities; Manages all project activities and resources across the organization in a manner that maximizes efficiency and minimizes conflicts.
- Develops and defines project scope and objectives; Shapes project management strategy, goal setting and execution, ensuring clear visibility across key stakeholder groups including executive leadership.
- Creates budget forecasts and performs budget analysis to manage workflow and stay within budget planning; Champions the delivery of SCE's most critical projects on time, on budget and to scope, ensuring its aligned to the business objectives.
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Seven or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management. Experience establishing enterprise-wide project management vision, policies, and objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading large-scale, complex program delivery in utilities, infrastructure, or other regulated industries, including enterprise, multi-year capital programs
- Proven ability to establish and operate Program/Project Management Offices (PMO/PDO), including governance, integrated planning, and performance management
- Demonstrated success managing cross-functional delivery across business, IT, operations, and external partners, with strong vendor and system integrator oversight
- Experience supporting regulatory commitments and engagements (e.g., GRC, filings, testimony, or data requests) within a regulated environment
- Background in AMI, grid modernization, or large-scale digital transformation programs, including deployment and integration with enterprise systems
- Strong executive communication and leadership skills, with the ability to drive alignment and deliver results in high-visibility, high-stakes program
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
