Become a Product Owner and CanopySense Senior Advisor in Vegetation Management at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be responsible for translating vegetation management business needs into actionable features and enhancements for the platform’s AI models and AI Diagnostic Tool. This role acts as the key liaison between vegetation management stakeholders and technical teams, managing the product backlog, prioritizing enhancements, and ensuring that AI-driven insights are robust, accurate, and usable.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the development and maintenance of the integrated T&D IT Roadmap, ensuring emerging business needs and technologies are incorporated.
  • Frequently communicates with all levels of the organization to foster an enterprise understanding of the T&D IT Roadmap within their area of responsibility. Identifies dependencies and constraints across operational units and portfolios to maximize the benefits of deployed IT solutions. Collaborates with peers to minimize duplicative projects and maximize Enterprise solutions.
  • Develops and administers a consistent process for initiating IT projects, prioritizing based on business needs, corporate strategic direction, and savings benefits analysis. Engages with cross-functional and organizational stakeholders to identify and formulate demand, communicates effectively, and guides stakeholders through the initiation process. Presents the prioritized IT Roadmap to the IT Governance and FRM Forums for final approval annually.
  • Conducts business capability planning by assessing current business capabilities and establishing target maturity levels aligned with the company’s strategic objectives. Secures approval for the business capability maturity roadmap and collaborates with IT to develop strategic/Enterprise IT solutions that meet business needs.
  • Performs integrated portfolio planning by developing a cohesive approach to technology, people, and processes.
  • Develops and maintains the operating plan and General Rate Case for the assigned portfolio to ensure the highest-value work is prioritized and performed. This role handles the most complex portfolios that require extensive cross-function and cross-organizational alignment.
  • Provides experienced business project leadership and technical guidance to align complex business needs with IT solution alternatives for Asset Management, Work Management, Engineering and Planning, and Grid Operations (i.e., Lead Business Integrator). Partners with IT Maintenance and Operations to prioritize and plan key upgrades across the T&D portfolio.
  • Performs project management and oversight functions, ensuring the team’s deliverables are of high quality, completed in a timely manner, and within budget.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of experience in ensuring successful delivery of technology solutions.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Master’s degree in computer science, geospatial science, business, or a related field.
  • Experience working in agile product development, including backlog management.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, UX specialists, and operational end users.
  • Experience developing and delivering training, demonstrations, or communication materials to diverse audiences.
  • Experience analyzing usage metrics, tracking model performance, and driving iterative product enhancements.

 

 

Additional Information 

 

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
