Key Focus Areas

  • Support the Planning organizations to help perform daily work, prioritize fixes, test items for migrations, develop and implement system enhancements and assist other members of Design Support with anything involving system tools.  

  • Evaluate and confirm systems processes and interfaces across multiple platforms that include, but are not limited to Design Manager, AUD, SPIDA, CSRP, TCONN, SAP, Bluebeam, BRP3. 

  • Provide insights and best practices to users navigating systems used within the Planning organization. 

  • Validate and resolve systems issues with IT, identifying missed procedural steps in the system, creating and updating job aids, and completing user acceptance and post verification testing. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and executes contracts and agreements in compliance with administrative instructions and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures that permits and easements for facilities are obtained in accordance with all relevant city, county, and additional agencies.
  • Develops and implements data management practices to sustain model integrity.
  • Directs and coordinates transmission and distribution activities that provide energy services to customers, leading outage management, facility maintenance and capital improvements.
  • Obtains management approval for on-going projects and conducts tracking, analysis and resolution of project cost, scope, resource and schedule issues, ensuring commitment on detailed work plans, including contingency and communication plans.
  • Retrieves, analyzes and summarizes business, operations, customer and economic data in order to develop business intelligence, optimize effectiveness and predict business outcomes.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and interprets trends or patterns and prepares ongoing reports and data visualizations (e.g., charts, dashboards, heat maps) in order to support business decisions.
  • Monitors budget variances on a regular basis and prepares and monitors long term budget forecasts.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience in energy delivery and distribution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience supporting utility planning systems, including maps, work orders, pricing documentation, or material ordering.
  • Experience with distribution planning processes, capital work system flows, and tools such as AUD and Design Manager.
  • Experience supporting Planning organizations within District, Technical, Transmission, or New Business environments.
  • Experience leading or contributing to technology projects, including business requirements, coordination with IT developers, and IPSEC activities.
  • Experience developing and executing User Acceptance Testing, Post-Implementation Testing, and test scripts.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables with minimal oversight.
  • Strong communication, training, and cross-functional collaboration skills in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and knowledge of Distribution Design Standards; AutoCAD certification is preferred.

 

Additional Information 

  • The position’s work mode is remote. Employee is able to work primarily at home or remote however, the employee may be expected to come to an SCE facility on occasion. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Hiring organizations can add further requirements related to specific jobs.
