Responsibilities
- Advises business leaders by providing data‑based strategic direction to identify and address business issues and opportunities.
- Identifies areas to increase efficiency and automate data analysis processes.
- Plans, manages, and controls the activities of a team or teams of analysts that provide business intelligence and strategic planning support for business segments or the company at large.
- Leads initiatives to analyze complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources.
- Brings expertise or identifies subject matter experts in support of multi‑functional efforts to identify, interpret, and produce recommendations and plans based on company and external data analysis.
- Ensures that policies and procedures align with corporate vision.
- Oversees the activities of defining data requirements, data collection, processing, cleaning, analysis, modeling, and visualization.
- Examines and identifies data patterns and trends to help answer business questions and improve decision‑making.
- Provides input for complex data science and big data mining projects.
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience managing or supervising an organization or unit, or five or more years of project‑management experience.
- Experience with data analysis and data systems and software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, data analytics, or a closely related science and engineering field.
- Five or more years of hands-on experience working in data analytics roles, including experience with ETL processes and navigating ambiguity within available data sources.
- Hands-on experiences with languages like Python, SQL, or SAS and SAP as well familiarity with cloud computing environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and data visualization tools like SAP Datasphere or Power BI.
- Experience designing and maintaining processes to manage high volumes of analytical requests, ensuring timely delivery and consistently high-quality outputs.
- Experience overseeing responses to regulatory data requests from external agencies (e.g., Energy Safety, SED) and compliance reporting, including assigning work, reviewing the accuracy of the outputs, meeting tight deadlines and ensuring consistency with prior submissions.
- Experience driving process improvements, automation, and standardization of analytics workflows to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance data quality
- Experience providing technical direction and subject matter expertise on asset data, asset inspections, notifications, work orders and compliance requirements.
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
