This position is responsible for balancing affordability, reliability, and delivery performance by integrating capital and O&M operating plans. You will ensure that financial and operational strategies are fully aligned to support a resilient and future-ready grid. Key Areas of Focus

  • Lead T&D Operating Plan Development – Oversee annual and long-term Op Plan development across all T&D departments (excluding DFAS), coordinating with OpFi and departmental leaders to align financial, delivery, and affordability goals.
  • Direct Financial and Cost Planning – Manage capital and O&M budgeting processes, ensuring a bottoms-up financial build, accurate uploads, and integrated short- and long-term cost planning.
  • Establish and Maintain Cost-Per Metrics – Develop and refine cost-per methodologies for all T&D work types and commodities, tying financial actuals to performance insights that inform planning, execution, and regulatory support.
  • Oversee Delivery and Compliance Tracking – Maintain enterprise-wide tracking of completed volumes including compliance-related, providing clear visibility into performance by region, district, and contractor vs. internal work.
  • Provide Strategic Leadership and Collaboration – Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering strong collaboration across Performance & Strategy, Operations, and Op Finance to enhance op planning accuracy, cost transparency, and operational performance.

Responsibilities

  • Plays critical role in aligning performance metrics with organizational goals and ensuring the resilience of business operations
  • Identify areas for performance improvement based on data analysis and insights. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies, initiatives, and process improvements that drive efficiency, productivity, and cost savings; monitor the impact of these interventions and make adjustments as needed
  • Assess and monitor risks that may impact business performance; identify potential risks, develop risk mitigation strategies, and establish monitoring mechanisms to ensure that risks are effectively managed; provide recommendations for improving resilience and addressing emerging risks
  • Collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure that performance metrics are aligned with strategic objectives; facilitate discussions, workshops, and presentations to communicate performance results, share insights, and gain buy-in for performance improvement initiatives
  • Continuously evaluate and refine performance management processes and methodologies.
  • Stays up-to-date with industry best practices, emerging trends, and new technologies; lead benchmarking exercises to compare performance against industry peers and identify areas for improvement
  • Lead and support organizational change initiatives, offering insights into their impact on performance metrics; collaborate with senior executives and other key stakeholders to align performance metrics with strategic goals; analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity
  • Lead a high-performing team to drive strategic initiatives, optimize processes, and enhance overall business performance
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management.
  • Five or more years combined experience performing or leading Business Performance Management function.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Ten (10) years of relevant experience in financial planning, cost management, or performance analytics within a utility or capital-intensive organization.
  • Proven experience as a people-first leader, with strong emotional intelligence (EQ) and the ability to support, motivate, and develop a remote diverse team.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and ability to align operational plans with business goals and regulatory requirements (e.g., general rate case).
  • Financial management or portfolio management experience with large budgets (hundreds of millions to billions of dollars); strong analytical skills and agility with data.
  • Track record of successful collaboration and negotiation with senior leaders (vice presidents, directors) and cross-functional teams. 
  • Hands-on approach to problem-solving, including the ability to develop tools (e.g., Excel workbooks) and support the team through strict deadlines and high-pressure situations.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment; experience leading teams through organizational change and process improvement. 
  • Ability to drive cost-saving initiatives, standardize processes, and implement analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI) across operational groups. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data and present actionable insights to stakeholders. 

 

 

Additional Information 

  • The position’s work mode is remote. Employee is able to work primarily at home or remote however, the employee may be expected to come to an SCE facility on occasion. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Hiring organizations can add further requirements related to specific jobs.
