In this job, you’ll partner with stakeholders across the company, develop integrated communications plans, establish key messages, create and manage plan deliverables and analyze performance. This position is part of the Integrated Communications Planning team. In this role, you will help drive effective, strategic communications and collaboration throughout Corporate Communications and the enterprise, serving as the “offensive coordinator” for planning, messaging and tactics to advance the organization’s mission and drive greater awareness of the Edison business. As a Communications Advisor, Integrated Communications Planning, your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. Responsibilities

  • Organizes and schedules communication releases, monitors channels for feedback, and ensures that all content is consistent with the company's brand and voice
  • Supports effort with managing PR risks and crisis communications in conjunction with the central marketing leadership
  • Manages, monitors, and reports on the effectiveness of corporate communications efforts
  • Collaborates closely with agreed upon vendors to develop joint content strategies to maximize communication efforts
  • Helps capitalize on opportunities to tell success stories around major projects, specifically highlighting community investments and partnerships
  • Monitors the standard key messages/talking points created for management to use for primary corporate issues when in discussion with stakeholders; providing colleagues and clients with media relations advice and counsel, media training, news release writing, media distribution processes and media monitoring/issues tracking
  • Updates and contributes to databases of communications materials ensuring SCE's ability to deliver a fast response and plan appropriate engagement activities
  • Assists with critical communication material such as blogs, OPEDS, fact sheets, web copy, and other collateral in support of the company and its projects
  • Carries out media-specific key messages and Q&A's, often in consultation with other members of the Public Affairs and Communications team, senior leaders and/or subject matter experts
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience in Corporate Communications within a corporate and/or agency environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in communications, marketing, business, journalism or related field
  • Experience using data analytics to gauge a campaign's effectiveness
  • Project management experience
  • Working knowledge of AP (Associated Press) style
  • Experience with internal and external communications, methodologies, tools and researching trends and technology
  • Strategic problem solver with attention to tactical execution and detail
  • Excellent writing, editing and verbal communications
  • Experience creating and delivering presentations to leadership teams or stakeholders
  • Skill in linking communications plans to business outcomes and cross-company partnerships
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategic plans
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortability with ambiguity and demonstrated agility

 

Additional Information 

 

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
