In this job, you’ll shape shape how Southern California Edison communicates with millions, driving enterprise-wide copy-editing excellence and ensuring clear, compelling content for high-visibility internal and external channels (sce.com, edison.com, Energized, newsroom, advertising and portal). You will lead the development and refinement of written content through copy editing and line editing, delivering high-quality work, often under tight deadlines, while applying GEO/SEO best practices, and aligning messaging with business priorities and enterprise content strategy. This role also serves as a project lead for vendor and program management across digital platforms and campaigns, while advancing innovation through the development and testing of enterprise-wide AI agents. Responsibilities
- Organizes and schedules communication releases, monitors channels for feedback, and ensures that all content is consistent with the company's brand and voice.
- Supports effort with managing PR risks and crisis communications in conjunction with the central marketing leadership.
- Manages, monitors, and reports on the effectiveness of corporate communications efforts. Collaborates closely with agreed upon vendors to develop joint content strategies to maximize communication efforts.
- Helps capitalize on opportunities to tell success stories around major projects, specifically highlighting community investments and partnerships.
- Monitors the standard key messages/talking points created for management to use for primary corporate issues when in discussion with stakeholders; providing colleagues and clients with media relations advice and counsel, media training, news release writing, media distribution processes and media monitoring/issues tracking.
- Updates and contributes to databases of communications materials ensuring SCE's ability to deliver a fast response and plan appropriate engagement activities.
- Assists with critical communication material such as blogs, OPEDS, fact sheets, web copy, and other collateral in support of the company and its projects.
- Carries out media-specific key messages and Q&A's, often in consultation with other members of the Public Affairs and Communications team, senior leaders and/or subject matter experts.
- Serves as a Public Information Officer (PIO) during Incident Management Team activations, playing a vital role in supporting our customers and communities during emergencies.
- Incident Management Team (IMT) Participation: When needed, incumbents in this job are required to serve as members of the Incident Management Team (IMT) to support emergency response and business continuity efforts. This essential function includes on-call availability on a rotating basis (approximately every four to six weeks), the ability to work extended hours up to 12-hour shifts during IMT activations, flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as operationally necessary during emergency events, readiness to report in person to the Irwindale location on short notice, completion and maintenance of required IMT training and qualifications, and the performance of assigned IMT duties that may differ from regular responsibilities. These requirements are considered essential functions of the role.

Minimum Qualifications
- Seven or more years of experience in corporate communications within a corporate and/or agency environment.
Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience, preferably in Communications, Journalism or Public Relations.
- Experience in AP style copy editing, line editing and written communications or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Experience with narrative-style writing and aligning to brand voice.
- Experience with project management software (ie. Monday.com).
- Experience writing and editing for various digital platforms, including websites, social media and the intranet.
- Experience using digital creative platforms such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, Figma and Frame IO to provide copy edits.
- Experience using and researching best practices for GEO, SEO and AI systems, including use of AI agents.
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
