In this job, you’ll be part of the Operational Compliance organization which manages SCE’s participation in industry reliability forums; reviews energy regulations and laws for documenting compliance requirements; and manages enterprise compliance systems, data, and reporting. You will collaborate with subject matter experts, management, and senior management across SCE to help ensure SCE maintains a strong compliance posture with state and federal energy regulators. Responsibilities

  • Facilitates progress on all compliance related activities, including mitigation plan development and documentation of project completion
  • Tracks, analyzes and implements regulations that affect the company 
  • Undertakes the tracking of audit, inspection and incident investigation completion and findings, and ensures that any corrective actions taken are logged correctly
  • Ensures all required reports are filed with agencies and regulators in a timely manner, and maintains records and documents compliance obligations
  • Reviews business practices and policies of all business and operational areas to minimize litigation risk
  • Maintains written documentation of plans, programs, procedures, and other evidence necessary to comply with the requirements
  • Assists in delivering training on regulatory codes and company procedures
  • Assists in monitoring and reporting on compliance metrics and key performance indicators
  • Assists in planning, organizing and guiding extensive technical programs and activities of outstanding novelty and importance
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity
     

Minimum Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience with regulatory compliance/guidelines, compliance standards, risk assessment of noncompliance issues or cybersecurity.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Information Technology, JD, or related field
  • Experience overseeing data entry and data changes. 
  • Experience with CPUC, FERC, NERC or other state/federal agencies regulatory advocacy, policy, or compliance
  • Foundational knowledge of electric utility operations
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills and the ability to analyze regulatory problems and create innovative solutions
  • Ability to rapidly learn and assimilate technical information and gather relevant information from different sources to resolve problems or issues
  • Strong interpersonal and oral communications skills with proven record of building relationships and communicating information in a concise and straight forward manner
  • Strong written communication skills including the ability to develop effective presentations and management briefings
  • Ability to be diplomatic and tactful when resolving conflicts and issues

 

Additional Information 

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
