In this job, you’ll be part of the State Regulatory Operations Cost Recovery team at SCE, primarily responsible for supporting the Wildfire and Catastrophic Event Memorandum Account (CEMA) applications, the Energy Resource Recovery Account (ERRA) applications, and other cost recovery proceedings at the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).  This is a highly collaborative and challenging role where you will be exposed to cost recovery, critical elements of utility ratemaking and other important company issues.. Responsibilities

  • Analyzes forecasting errors and trends and propose, vet, and implements load bidding strategies in partnership
  • Maintains and updates existing forecast models and develop new models to improve forecast performance
  • Analyzes forecasting errors and identifies areas of improvement in modeling, forecasting and analysis processes.
  • Maintains well-documented records and compliance with all internal Company policies and procedures
  • Guides research into current and future market and regulatory scenarios which are used to value the commercials of assets
  • Develops and optimizes databases and repositories including visualization tools to enhance decision making
  • Forecasts market prices in order to help determine the correct market strategy
  • Performs ad hoc quantitative analysis and model development to support trading and business decisions
  • Develops and enhances tools for analysis projects using appropriate technical information and skills
  • Performs exploratory analysis of large complex data sets to derive insights and valuable actions
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience performing modeling, forecasting or economic analysis and reporting.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, Law, Finance, Communications, Public Policy or related discipline
  • Experience supporting or drafting testimony development for regulatory proceedings.
  • Experience in supporting analysis for regulatory proceedings.
  • Experience identifying, leading, and supporting ad-hoc short-term projects
  • Experience presenting and providing information on the financial and operational impacts of existing and proposed risk-informed strategies to leadership
  • Experience reviewing historical, pending, and new business processes to identify potential impacts on operations, including recommendations to address the operational impacts.
  • Provide substantive guidance and benefit to regulatory matters
  • Experience coordinating with other project teams to ensure adequate functionality, data availability and schedules (risk-informed planning functions).
  • Experience working in the utility industry

 

Additional Information 

 

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
