In this job, you’ll design comprehensive best practices and establish process standards for Grid projects, maintenance and operations of the underlying frameworks and capabilities within an on-premise environment.

 

Additional Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, build, test, and deploy DevOps tools to create consistent, verifiable, and automatic management of application and infrastructure within the Grid domain.
  • Recommend appropriate CI/CD deployment architecture by collaborating with cross-functional teams including domain architects, application, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and other subject matter experts.
  • Design and implement tool integration with existing tools such as BMC Helix, Splunk, etc. within the DevOps platform.
  • Gather and analyze requirements and develop test plans for solution validation.
  • Review and enhance comprehensive best practices and setup process standards for maintenance and operations of the DevOps frameworks.
  • Train and guide the internal and external teams with streamlined DevOps best practices.
  • Support onboarding and operations of client applications that will utilize the DevOps platform for their Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery.
  • Develop and publish monthly metrics and reporting to measure efficiencies and overall DevOps Platform cycle improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the reliable, safe, and compliant operation and maintenance of the grid application system, and implements grid modernization capital and expense programs
  • Develops and manages energy efficiency projects, integrating advanced technologies and renewable energy sources to reduce energy consumption
  • Develops and implements tools, processes and procedures that enhance system reliability and organizational efficiencies
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to promote energy-saving practices and ensure effective energy management throughout the organization
  • Identifies, implements, and maintains key performance and process metrics to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of processes, procedures and applications
  • Designs, develops and maintains plans related to data integrity, system reliability, and consistency
  • Oversees software development and maintenance support for the grid applications as they relate to the operation and control of the electrical grid
  • Designs, administers and monitors grid application software configurations
  • Facilitates grid application vendor software enhancements and leverages product capability, driving standardization, limiting customization, and maximizing reuse of content developed for previous solutions
  • Develops group performance expectations and goals that align with line of business and Company goals
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience in designing, building, implementing, maintaining, and supporting complex Utility, Realtime or Enterprise systems  - OR - Seven or more years of experience as a user of a Utility grid application

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience implementing/maintaining DevOps platforms within large, complex business environments.
  • Five or more years of experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Jira, GitHub, Nexus, SonarQube, etc.
  • Experience leading discussions involving senior level technical SMEs from Application and Infrastructure teams.

 

Additional Information 

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

  • The primary work location for this position is Rosemead, CA.  However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at an alternate work location.
  • Position will require up to 10% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory. 
  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation.  Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
  • This position has an option for a 9/80 Alternate Work Schedule or 40hrs/5 days a week.
