Become an Enterprise Cybersecurity Senior Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll serve as a senior technical and strategic leader responsible for defining, maintaining, and socializing SCE Cybersecurity’s AI strategy and roadmap. This role will translate enterprise objectives, emerging AI capabilities, threat trends, regulatory expectations, and Cybersecurity operating needs into a coherent AI cybersecurity strategy that enables responsible innovation, measurable risk reduction, and operational resilience across SCE.

More specifically, you’ll:

Own and continuously refine the multi-year Cybersecurity AI strategy, priorities, guiding principles, and measurable outcomes.
Maintain an integrated technical roadmap for AI-enabled cyber defense, secure enterprise AI adoption, and AI risk reduction.
Assess emerging AI technologies, threat trends, regulatory developments, and industry practices to identify risks, opportunities, and recommended actions for SCE.
Define cybersecurity requirements, reference patterns, guardrails, and control expectations for AI platforms, solutions, data, models, and third-party services.
Lead cybersecurity participation in AI strategy planning across the enterprise, perform architecture reviews, investment planning, and technology-selection decisions.
Partner across Cybersecurity, IT, data, privacy, legal, compliance, risk, procurement, operations, and business teams to integrate security throughout the AI lifecycle.
Develop executive briefings, dashboards, decision papers, and roadmap updates that clearly communicate progress, risk, tradeoffs, dependencies, and funding needs.
Establish success measures and governance rhythms to track roadmap execution, control effectiveness, risk reduction, and realized business value.
Advise leaders on responsible AI adoption, including appropriate human oversight, monitoring, resilience, incident response, and regulatory considerations.
Provide thought leadership, mentoring, and practical guidance that builds organizational understanding of AI-related cybersecurity risks and capabilities.

Responsibilities

Drives endpoint security across the organization, ensuring that Enterprise and Platform infrastructure is secure, protecting SCE's employees and customers.
Participates in determination of security requirements, evaluates business strategies and requirements, researches information security standards, conducts system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments, studies architecture and platform; identifies integration issues; and prepares cost estimates.
Facilitates planning security systems by evaluating network and security technologies, develops requirements for local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), virtual private networks (VPNs), routers, firewalls, and related security and network devices, and designs public key infrastructures (PKIs) adhering to industry standards.
Leads implementation of security systems by specifying intrusion detection methodologies and equipment; directs equipment and software installation and calibration; prepares preventive and reactive measures; creating, transmitting, and maintaining keys; provides technical support; completes documentation.
Monitors and ensures compliance to standards, policies, and procedures by conducting incident response analyses and participating in training programs.
Prepares system security reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
Performs risk assessments and threat modeling exercises to identify risks in home-grown and third-party services and applications.
Creates security tooling to secure corporate infrastructure and development environments. Documents processes for and provides support of the Enterprise Security Architecture.
Provides guidance on the data security processes, including encryption, privacy management, data classification and assigning certain security levels based on classification.
A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

Ten or more years of experience in information technology, information security and/or cybersecurity.
US Citizenship Required.

Preferred Qualifications

Ten or more years of experience in enterprise architecture, AI strategy, security strategy, or related technology strategy functions.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or related discipline.
Experience developing enterprise strategies, technical roadmaps, capability models, program plans, or investment recommendations for complex technology environments.
Experience translating technical cybersecurity topics into executive-ready communications, including briefings, roadmaps, decision papers, metrics, and risk-based recommendations.
Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, governance models, risk management practices, architecture practices, and security controls applicable to enterprise and critical infrastructure environments.
Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes across teams without direct authority, work independently on ambiguous assignments, and establish objectives, plans, and deliverables with broad organizational impact.
Experience developing or governing AI, GenAI, machine learning, agentic AI, AI security, AI risk management, or AI-enabled cybersecurity capabilities.
Experience with AI security concepts such as model/prompt/data security, AI threat modeling, adversarial testing, privacy and data protection, logging and monitoring, human oversight, and secure AI lifecycle controls.
Experience aligning cybersecurity requirements with enterprise AI platforms, AI Centers of Excellence, data governance, cloud platforms, identity controls, cyber operations, or DevSecOps processes.
Experience in utility, critical infrastructure, operational technology, regulated, or large enterprise environments.
Familiarity with relevant frameworks and standards such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST AI Risk Management Framework, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-82, MITRE ATT&CK, MITRE ATLAS, Zero Trust, SABSA, TOGAF, IEC 62443, or related industry practices.
One or more relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, GSEC, cloud security, AI/ML security, architecture, or related certifications.

Additional Information

This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

Position will require up to 25% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
