As a Senior Advisor in the Program Management Office (PMO) within our IT organization, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving excellence in project delivery across the enterprise. In this critical role, you will serve as the subject matter expert for PMO methodologies, processes, tools, and templates. You’ll be responsible for enhancing consistency and transparency across IT projects by implementing best practices, developing training resources, and enabling continuous improvement. Your leadership will help shape the way our Project Managers and delivery teams operate – ensuring the tools, job aids, and training they need are in place to deliver high-impact outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the definition, implementation, and continuous improvement of Agile processes across all IT portfolios.
  • Serve as the Agile subject matter expert to ensure practices align with business goals and delivery standards.
  • Coach, mentor, and train cross-functional teams and leaders to support Agile adoption and maturity.
  • Coordinate work across teams to ensure collaboration and alignment on key initiatives.
  • Develop, maintain, and govern standards, templates, and methodologies that support consistent project execution.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with governance standards and project methodology best practices.
  • Lead process improvement efforts and provide functional direction to enhance project and portfolio management effectiveness.
  • Develop and deliver training materials and sessions related to optimizing project methodologies (Agile, waterfall, hybrid, etc.), project management standards, and tools.
  • Maintain IT PMO resources & tools, including the SharePoint site and 360PI tool, ensuring accessibility and accuracy of information.
  • Plan and facilitate recurring PMO events, such as forums, workshops, and Lunch & Learns, to support knowledge sharing and engagement.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of project management domain expertise in a variety of project management methodologies.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three (3) or more years of Process Improvement Change Management experience.
  • Technical writing experience.
  • Training/Talent Development experience. 
  • In-depth Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint).
  • Domain expertise with core PMO functions (e.g., Project Information Management, Governance, Cost Management, Benefits Management, Schedule Management, Dependency Management, Resource Management, RAID Log Management, Lessons Learned Management, GRC / Op Planning Prioritization Support, Strategic Alignment, and other Strategic Portfolio Management capabilities such as Strategy Realization, Demand Management, Portfolio Analytics, Outcomes Management (OKRs) etc. as prioritized by leadership).
  • Familiarity with core PMO metrics.
  • Familiarity with Business Value Realization, Project Financial Management, Estimation and Earned Value.

 

 

Additional Information 

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
