Responsibilities
- Leads the administration of workers compensation, disability benefits, and leave programs, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and alignment with company policies.
- Defines departmental objectives and work plans to support integrated disability and absence management strategies across the organization.
- Monitors legislative changes at the federal, state, and local levels and ensures timely updates to programs, policies, and procedures.
- Manages vendor relationships and supports the selection of service providers to ensure program effectiveness and cost efficiency.
- Guides subordinate managers and staff in identifying and implementing process improvements using technology and vendor capabilities.
- Oversees the development and execution of program performance standards, including audits, financial analysis, and customer feedback mechanisms.
- Analyzes trends, budgeting impacts, and future liabilities related to disability and absence programs, and contributes to long-term forecasting.
- Communicates program performance, audit findings, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership to support decision-making and policy development.
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Five or more years of supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management.
- Experience with employee benefits and leave programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in business or human resources.
- Five year’s work experience in Disability Management including working with employee benefits and leave programs such as ADA, FMLA, CFRA, PDL, workers' compensation, and other federal and California employment laws and regulations.
- Experience in managing third-party administrators.
- CA workers’ compensation self-insurance certificate.
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
