In this job, you’ll be responsible for performing advanced administrative and secretarial duties for attorneys representing the Company in a variety of litigation, transactional and regulatory practice areas. Responsibilities

  • Aids in corporate filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, regulatory filings with the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and Federal and State court filings
  • Handles highly confidential and sensitive information while performing a wide variety of complex legal administrative tasks, such as scheduling hearings, depositions and court appearances; maintaining calendars and coordinating meetings
  • Aids in preparing corporate transactional documents, briefs, pleadings, memoranda, settlement agreements, contracts, court filings, regulatory filings, and other legal documents
  • Files legal documents with the courts, commissions, or other governmental agencies
  • Prepares and organizes legal documents, summons, complaints, and pleadings and coordinates court filings, including e-filing, with state court and federal court
  • Manages and maintains databases and electronic files for major proceedings
  • Manages multiple projects and calendars, including scheduling and coordinating meetings, and conference calls for project and management staff
  • Prepares outside counsel engagement packages, budgets and track outside counsel invoices to ensure budget control for extensive multi-jurisdictional legal practice
  • Assists in preparing and e-filing pleadings, legal documents and administrative agency reports
  • Helps with case files, evidence books and hearing preparation including witness lists, discovery and exhibits
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience preparing corporate transactional documents, briefs, pleadings, memoranda, settlement agreements, contracts, court filings, regulatory filings, and other legal documents.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience performing advanced administrative and legal secretarial functions for a private law firm or corporate legal department 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including editing for proper sentence structure, grammar, spelling, and punctuation 
  • Knowledge of current federal and state court rules  
  • Demonstrated experience creating presentations with PowerPoint

 

 

Additional Information 

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
