Become a Principal Manager, Environmental Execution at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will lead a team of senior managers and environmental specialists responsible for field execution of environmental requirements. The successful candidate will work with the Environmental Department Director and Environmental Senior Leadership Team to set goals for the environmental execution teams and provide oversight and accountability to achieving those goals. This position oversees a wide variety of challenging areas including execution of work against environmental requirements, troubleshooting conditions in the field, management of hazardous waste, interaction with federal, state, and local agencies, management of a 24/7 environmental emergency operations center, and management of materials test laboratory staffed with professional chemists.

Responsibilities
- Develops and executes comprehensive environmental survey and permitting strategies tailored to a diverse portfolio of projects spanning various developmental stages, construction phases, and operational lifecycles, aligning with overarching corporate objectives and regulatory requirements
- Collaborates with others to update various facility regulatory plans and documents while minimizing impacts to operational activities
- Provide strategic direction and oversight to intra-departmental teams on planning and execution of environmental initiatives across the organization
- Oversees all facets of operational coordination pertaining to environmental services across one or multiple sites
- Oversees negotiation of facility permit application submittals, renewals and equipment/process revisions with authorities
- Develops, implements and maintains environmental science policies, procedures and programs to ensure facility compliance with environmental laws and regulations
- Assesses and optimizes environmental work processes and activities to enhance efficiency, mitigate risks, and maximize environmental performance outcomes, utilizing strategic foresight to anticipate and address emerging environmental challenges and opportunities proactively
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Seven or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management.
- Experience developing environmental survey and permitting strategies.
- Possess a valid Class C Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Biology, Archaeology, Environmental Science, or other science or engineering discipline
- Experience in environmental permitting and managing environmental permit conditions during construction
- Experience managing teams responsible for environmental permitting and/or managing environmental permit conditions during construction
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
