Become a Principal Manager of Integration Services at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will lead a team responsible for building, configuring, and procuring all equipment designed by the Network and Telecom Engineering team. You will ensure solutions are implemented accurately and efficiently while overseeing vendor relationships and telecom construction activities. This role provides leadership and coordination to deliver complex projects on time, maintaining strong alignment between engineering design and field execution.

Responsibilities

  • Designs network architecture, manages system tests, provides deployment plans, and supports projects for network deployment.
  • Oversees the design, implementation, and operations of the wireless telecommunication systems to support company's operations; heading the design, architecture and implementation of the company's voice strategy.
  • Drives the long and short-term planning for emergent projects, fiber expansion, new fiber routes, diversified fiber routes, network reliability and enhancement.
  • Develops and implements network operations standards and processes critical for efficient network management within the business unit.
  • Delivers technical training, mentorship and direction to telecommunications construction and maintenance personnel in support of installing, diagnosing, repairing, and testing of network systems and circuits.
  • Manages the company's system operations budget, spare equipment inventory, technical training, server management, and software applications for network management systems and network elements. Oversees and manages short-term and long-term analysis, planning, and cost estimation for telecom and network projects to support the control systems and applications required for power grid operation. Designs and implements communication network enhancements across the company and develops the technology strategy and roadmap, managing and overseeing the company's network performance for customer SLAs and KPIs.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management.
  • Experience in proprietary telecommunications systems.
  • Experience designing network architecture, managing system tests and deployment plans.
  • Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing a represented (union) workforce.
  • Ten or more years of experience managing one or more organizational units.
  • Ten or more years of experience managing multiple business and technology solutions.
  • Seven or more years of experience in telecommunications, network engineering, or utility communications.
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications technologies (e.g., LTE/5G private networks, fiber, microwave).
  • Experience managing and deploying telecommunications systems.
  • Five or more years of experience building strong teams and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Five or more years of experience delivering effective oral and written communications in a professional work environment.

 

 

Additional Information 

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

  • The primary work location for this position is Rosemead, CA. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at Fullerton, CA.
  • Position will require up to 20% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory. 
  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation.  Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
