In this job, you’ll support customer-facing programs and services that support SCE's Clean Power and Electrification Pathway. Examples could include programs related to building electrification, transportation electrification, energy efficiency, energy equity and access, and other related matters. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, develop, and complete regulatory activities to achieve SCE policy goals.

Responsibilities

  • Researches and analyzes public utility commission proceedings regarding demand side management, smart grid, distributed energy resources, and business model regulations for electricity markets
  • Compiles company operating statistics for internal and external distribution
  • Participates in stakeholder processes, regulatory bodies, and regional organizations
  • Assists in performing reviews of key contracts to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and solicitation requirements
  • Assembles various reports and evidence for communication to external regulators
  • Provides guidance to cross-functional organizations on considering preventative measures on corrective action responses
  • Provides advice and guidance on regulatory issues affecting the company's assets
  • Participates in advocating on regulatory matters related to strategic goals and objectives
  • Assists in monitoring key industry standards and regulatory updates, and develops internal guidance for relevant stakeholders
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience with regulatory filings/proceedings and compliance standards.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering, Business, Public Policy, Public Administration, Economics, Environmental Policy, or related field.
  • Experience working in an electric utility or regulated industry.
  • Experience developing regulatory documents such as Applications, Advice Letters, Testimony, and Comments.
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations and briefing information to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively track, monitor, and follow up on project action items and deliverables to ensure timely completion and successful outcomes.
  • Proficiency using MS Word, Excel, PPT, and Outlook.

 

Additional Information

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
