Responsibilities
- Investigates and mitigates trespassing by transients and homeless people on SCE property; gives notice of trespassing; and initiates removal of the individuals and their property if they do not comply.
- Investigates and mitigates reported threats, assaults, and other hostile conflicts involving SCE employees, contractors, or customers. Liaises with law enforcement when necessary and appropriate.
- Investigates and mitigates thefts, vandalism, and other incidents of damage or loss to SCE property including metal, construction materials, laptops, etc.
- Conducts interviews of subjects, victims, and witnesses during an investigation and documents in a coherent
- Report.
- Conducts security site surveys of various SCE facilities, initiates and participates in security technology projects, and conducts quality assurance checks on contract guard service personnel.
- Provides protection and security services for executives and other employees when necessary and appropriate at internal and external events, including contentious public gatherings and employee termination and disciplinary meetings.
- Responds to diverse calls for assistance, oftentimes in remote locations, made to Corporate Security 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days per year.
- Provides training presentations to various SCE business units and employees on topics to include workplace violence prevention, active shooter response, and conflict avoidance in the field; provide training to law enforcement on topics to include metal theft, electrical safety, and critical infrastructure
- Participates in tabletop exercises and Red Team drills to train and familiarize internal and external stakeholders with the physical security systems at a given facility, the related response plans/procedures, and the SCE Physical Incident Response Plan.
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ten or more years of experience in federal, state, or local law enforcement investigations. Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Human Resources, Police Science or related discipline.
- Possess a valid California Carry Concealed Weapons (CCW) license or be compliant with the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004 (“LEOSA”), commonly referred to as HR 218.
- CPP or PCI and other security-related certificates.
- Experience in investigative techniques and methods.
- ATAP member and experience conducting workplace violence risk assessments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
- Bilingual in another language.
- You are a creative problem solver.
- Strong negotiation, conflict management, leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

- The primary work location for this position is Rosemead, CA. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time in the field.
- Position will require up to 60% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
- This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
- This position is 40hrs/5 days a week.
- Relocation does not apply to this position.
