Responsibilities

  • Presents business case justifications, and cost and benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
  • Steers the implementation of solutions that include software packages and custom applications, across a variety of current and future systems environments.
  • Oversees project plans and resource loading plans, following solid project management principles.
  • Materializes outcomes for department strategies, visions, and objectives and turn them into effectively implemented tactical plans.
  • Drives roadmaps being created, maintained, and executed to keep systems patched and updated for their area of responsibility.
  • Drives long-range strategy and policy development to address complex business issues and provide leadership to cross-functional teams.
  • Introduces innovative technologies, methodologies and industry trends and looks for methods to leverage and benchmark them to improve current systems.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors software development policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborates with various business stakeholders to define business requirements for technology implementations across departments.
  • Directs the analysis, design, implementation, deployment and ongoing support of application solutions; responsible for the full range of life cycle activities.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management. Experience in leading applications portfolio management.
  • Experienced with IT portfolio management.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Experience leading digital engineering, automation, DevOps, AI, or enterprise technology teams.
  • Experience managing technology platforms, products, or shared services using agile or product-based delivery models.
  • Experience with automation, low-code, workflow, or digital development platforms, including Microsoft technologies.
  • Experience with software engineering and DevOps practices, including CI/CD, testing, release management, and code quality.
  • Experience implementing AI-enabled solutions, digital assistants, intelligent automation, or generative AI technologies.
  • Experience operating enterprise platforms with a focus on reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence.
  • Experience leading platform engineering, application development, mobile, or digital workplace initiatives.
  • Experience establishing technology governance, standards, operating models, and best practices.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, managed service providers, and technology contracts.
  • Experience delivering business value through automation, process improvement, digital transformation, or AI adoption.
  • Experience working in regulated industries such as utilities, energy, financial services, healthcare, government, or critical infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated success leading technology modernization, organizational change, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity, privacy, risk management, compliance, and enterprise architecture principles.
  • Relevant certifications such as SAFe, Scrum, Microsoft, Azure, GitHub, Power Platform, AI, DevOps, or related credentials.

 

Additional Information

 

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
