Responsibilities

  • Develops long-term vision and strategic roadmap for the project management competency.
  • Cultivates relationships with business partners and vendors to achieve operational excellence. Drives adoption of innovative project management methodologies and approaches.
  • Directs project portfolio planning and ongoing optimization of resources to advance key initiatives.
  • Enhances program increment planning, dependency management, and synchronization of Agile release trains.
  • Promotes collaboration between project teams to share knowledge, reuse code, align architecture, and standardize processes.
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to project managers on Agile principles, removing impediments, and evolving practices.
  • Drives initiatives to improve team velocity trends, defect rates, and sprint burndown metrics to mitigate risk.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management.
  • Experience developing long-term vision and strategic roadmaps for IT projects.
  • Experience in technical leadership of project portfolio planning and ongoing optimization of resources.

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Master’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Business Administration, or other relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering or overseeing enterprise IT solutions, including smart meter system implementation, enterprise system modernization, digital transformation programs, or large, complex ERP implementations
  • Three (3) or more years of experience IT portfolio management or product line management.
  • Demonstrated experience using various project delivery methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid-Agile.
  • Oversight and leadership of scope, schedule, budget, issues & risks, and people / resource management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large systems integrators.
  • Project Management and / or Agile Certification.
  • Utility industry experience, ideally including smart meter and grid technologies.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills collaborating with teams consisting of members across a variety of departments and disciplines.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills as well as presentation skills to effectively communicate and interact with personnel at all levels, including executive management.

 

Additional Information

 

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
