Responsibilities

  • Establishes department objectives and long-term maintenance strategies that align with business goals, regulatory requirements, and system reliability targets.
  • Oversees subordinate managers and supervisors responsible for executing transmission maintenance programs across a large geographic area.
  • Defines and implements operational plans, standards, and procedures that improve safety, efficiency, and asset performance.
  • Develops and manages departmental budgets, staffing plans, and performance metrics to ensure cost-effective and timely execution of maintenance activities.
  • Provides strategic direction on resource planning, outage coordination, and emergency response to minimize system disruptions and support grid stability.
  • Evaluates emerging technologies and maintenance practices to drive innovation, improve asset health, and extend equipment life cycles.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with NERC, WECC, CPUC, and other applicable standards.
  • Makes high-impact decisions that influence department outcomes, mitigate operational risks, and support company-wide reliability and capital investment strategies.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management.
  • Experience in electrical transmission operations maintenance.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Experience leading or managing construction organizations with broad knowledge of construction requirements.
  • Experience oversee the construction or operation of substation facilities.
  • Experience managing or supervising bargaining unit employees and working within a collective bargaining agreement.
  • Broad knowledge of company and departmental policies, objectives, strategies, and goals, as well as applicable governmental laws and regulations.

  • This position’s work mode is on-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation.  Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
  • Relocation does not apply to this position.
